The adventure in Norway is over for now

We have now returned from our trip to Norway. We still haven´t come home as we have two stops left on the way back to Gothenburg, but these stops are in Sweden.

Our last four days in Norway has been spent in two different locations. The first place was the island of Smøla. Smøla is an island famous for the huge wind craft park, but also for its high density of White-tailed Eagles. I suspect it must be among the highest in Norway. If not in the whole of Europe.

We stayed at a place just by the sea, but sadly we didn´t get to enjoy the sun deck as the weather didn´t permit it. We had more rain than sun, which is the way Norway has treated us during our entire stay.

The second place we stayed at was Trondheim, one of the biggest cities in Norway. It was a nice place to end our trip in Norway and it was a place Maria really liked.

In Trondheim we did the normal sightseeing, but at Smøla we did something different. We made trips out onto the sea with the aim of getting up and close with the White-tailed Eagle. This is something you can do in many places along the coast of Norway. This type of White-tailed Eagle safari isn´t something I have done before so it was nice to give it a try twice.

It was just as hard as I had thought. To sit in a small rocking boat taking photos of a White-tailed Eagle coming in to grab a fish isn´t easy, particularly if you would have liked to make a panning shot. Still I got a decent grasp of it. I got many nice photos from the two sessions and the one I like the most are those that include more things than just the bird, the sea and the fish. Those types of photos wasn´t highest on my priority, but I surely needed to get them also which you will see in the gallery.

On our way back to Sweden we even bumped into a small group of Reindeer. It was great to see this particular animal again as I have seen one in the wild for many years.

This is the last blog from our Norway trip. I will make an additional post from this trip, but that will be from the Swedish part of this two-week trip.
