The flight of the Swans

I had an idea in mind for a while. I wanted to get a nice photo of the Swans at Hökällan. Speeding swans just over the water surface was the main idea.

I stopped at Hökällan some weeks ago on the way home from work, just to check out the place a little better. At that time I discovered that I actually could walk out into the fields because they had cut down all the grass so one could now actually see where to go.

So I went there after work to see if I could managed to get the desired photos of the Swans.

There certainly was a lot of activity when I arrived late in the afternoon. I made sure I had the sun in my back when I walked out into the fields so the setting was optimal. I stayed there for an hour and took 100 photos and these are the best I think.

I like that I got the low flying Whooper Swan pair on photo. They actually got cased by another pair of Swans and that was why the swept past me.

There is just one tiny detail that I don´t like and that is that there isn´t a complete reflextion of the first Swan in the water. That would have made this picture something special. Now I know that I can capture what I want here at Hökällan, but I need to be here at the right time. The right time is before the reed has begun to grow because as soon as they do it I´ll lose every chance of getting any good pictures. This means I´ll probably have to wait until next year before I try to improve the photos I have taken today.
