Africa Geographic cover shot competition
I saw an advert for a cover competition awhile ago and thought that this might be something for me.
This is actually the first time I do something like this where the picture actually can end up on the front cover of a magazine.
Why now?
Firstly because I think I have a great photo that fit the bill. When I read the magazines cheat sheet it said that they had been accused of neglecting the smaller, less obvious animals for the ‘big and hairies’ or ‘cute and cuddlies’. You could say that they are cute and cuddly but I think they would be a lovely couple on the front cover of Africa Geographic.
Secondly because winning this would mean a great deal to me and some plans I have for the future. I won’t go into any details about this now but it is about me teaching some basic photography and photo editing skills. So this would be a great advert for this small project of mine.
This photo is battling out with 116 others to be among the first chosen finalist.
If you would like to vote for it then you need a Facebook account. Just follow the link and “like” the picture on the competition page. But you need to hurry because the voting ends this Friday.
If you are interested about the competition you can read about it on Africa Geographics blog here.
I have decided that I will send in some more pictures to see what the response will be. One will certainly be of a big hairy lion that looks straight into the camera but I also might send some other pictures so check my page once in a while so you don´t miss anything of interest.
If you like this picture.
Then please VOTE for it!!!
