Wild Bird Trust photographers of the week
I got the news yesterday that one of my European Robin photos was chosen by Wild Bird Trust to showcase on National Geographic.
It is always a pleasure and I am proud to one of my pictures is chosen among the thousands of pictures that is presented by Wild Bird Trust on their site.
The picture was taken a Saturday morning in the end of May when I got up early and headed out to see if I could find the Goosander family again. It was a really nice meeting I had with the Goosander family and it would be fun to meet them again.
I didn´t find what I was looking for, but the trip presented me with other opportunities like this picture of the European Robin. I can´t say that I often see this small birds, but I surely like it when i find them.
This is actually a young bird that stayed in a tree just by the path I was walking on. It was a constantly jumping around shrieking at its parents to feed it so I had to choose the moment when it was out in the sun sitting still. The goal was at that time was to get a nice picture of an adult feeding the chick, but I couldn´t catch that moment so I was actually most displeased that I didn´t got the chance to take the pictures I wanted before the birds took off.
I hadn´t walked along this stretch of Säveån for many weeks so I really should go there again soon to see if there might be another hatch of young birds there. I might even find the Goosander family again if I am lucky enough.

This is perhaps the most beautiful Robin photo ever, with genuine intimacy and personality.
