Duck practice

I brought the camera to work today to have the possibility to take some photos on the way back home. The morning was foggy but I understood that the weather would clear up and that we probably would hit almost 10 degrees in the shade. Fortunately for me the weather forecaster had done a decent job this time around and the weather was really lovely.

Earlier in the week I had seen a Grey Heron and that was the goal for the day. I want to have some good picture of it before it moves to other hunting grounds outside Gothenburg. Sadly I wasn´t lucky this time but I discovered some Mallard Ducks and Tufted Ducks so at least I had something to photo.

Maybe not the most interesting subjects to photo but I have been telling myself that I need to practice more so I really get a grip on the AutoIso feature of my Nikon D700.

So I sat the camera to Aperture mode and cranked up the AutoIso to 1/1000s to get a feeling of what this actually do. I will need to practice this a lot more but I took some photos that is presentable.

I really like this photo of the female Mallard Duck and how the water moves in the picture. It is dreamlike and gives softness to the picture. A nice first experiment.

BTW it is possible to resize the picture by clicking on it twice. I have to look at this because it is one click to many 🙂
