A visit to the now famous Beaver creek

I went to Beaver creek on Wednesday to do a last test of my photo equipment for the upcoming trip to Africa. I felt a need to do this last test to feel more at ease before the trip.

Beaver creek isn´t far from the winter ground of the White-throated Dipper and I recall that I thought there were many Beaver signs during my last visit this winter. And, it was surely true as a Beaver family had started to build a proper Beaver lodge during autumn just a couple of hundred meters from my favourite winter spot for the Dipper.

When I got there a met I friendly man that had a great knowledge about this Beaver family, but also knew many other things about the area which meant I snapped up some useful information for the coming winter. At the moment there were one adult and three juvenile Beavers around the lodge and the sub-adults that he had seen earlier this year seemed to have moved for new grounds. He also told me that their favourite food this time of year was Fern. It was easy to see that they liked Fern as I saw both the adult and a juvenile happily eat Fern.

I stayed for over an hour and got to see at least two juvenile play fighting. They did it for so long I even had time to test the cameras recording capability. I haven´t had time to do it before, but it was fairly easy and I hope I will be able to do some video recordings both during game walks but also at sightings.
