Is this the start of the usual winter weather in Gothenburg?
The winter halted this weekend even if we had a good snowfall during my photo trip on Saturday. Saturday morning brought snow fall but during the day it turn warmer temperatures with rain and melting snow. I knew that the light would be troublesome, but I feel that it´s good to test one’s ability during tougher conditions.
I wanted to revisit the White-throated Dipper site to get a better feeling for the place. I wanted to see what Välen could bring and lastly I wanted to see the activities at the Fish Harbor and the mouth of Säveån, my home turf. The aim for the day, photo wise, was to test the “rain coat” for my camera, but also to hopefully get some nice photos of birds in snowfall.
It was a good day that almost ended early when I almost got stuck at Välen due to slippery conditions. It was of course my own fault when I tried to park the car the usual place even if there was 20 centimeters of snow there.
Everything worked out as I had hoped, but once I got home I started to see something that I didn´t like. I had spots in the pictures that I haven´t seen before. This is something that I don´t like and I had to work with spot removals on at least four of the pictures that I show here. I hope I have found all, but I am not entirely sure I have done that. I investigate the lens as I hope that is the culprit and I saw many small spots on the lens. This is probably due to conditions in which I took many of the photos.
I have now cleaned the lens and will take some photos to see if I can find more spots. if I do then I’ll have to send the camera to Nikon for a sensor cleaning. I know how to do it myself, but I haven´t the tools and I must be sure that everything is spot on before my trip to Hungary in February.
I hope you’ll enjoy the winter pictures. I particularly like the Crow pictures myself.
