Wilderness photographer of the week
Today is the third time for me as one of my pictures got chosen as Top 25 Photographs from the Wilderness by Ranger Diaries and Bush Boyes. I have just sent a couple of pictures for a period as I have felt I wouldn’t stand a chance among the many excellent pictures that normally is chosen.
I understand why most pictures are from Africa as that is the continent for Game Rangers and that makes it a little bit special as my picture actually is the only from outside Africa this time.
There are many professional photographers from Africa sending their photos to Ranger Diaries. That is one of the aspects that make it hard to get any pictures among the chosen 25. Another aspect is the quality they have to choose from as you often see truly spectacular pictures chosen.
My photo portraits the male Golden Eagle from my last workshop in Kalvträsk, March this year. I like this action shot of the Golden Eagle and it really feels it is going to strike a prey. The snowfall together with the great posture is what makes this picture for me. This is a spectacular picture and one I really think fits among the Top 25 Photographs from the Wilderness by Ranger Diaries and Bush Boyes.
The technical part of the picture is great as I nailed what I wanted and I used a shutter speed of just 1/640s to get the diffuse wing tips that I like.
I hope you all enjoy the picture in the same way as I do as I think this might be one of the better pictures when I look back at the photo year 2013. I am thinking of trying to find one picture from each month this year and present them in a calendar. It might become the X-mas present of the year.
