A visit to Nossebro
Last Saturday me and Maria went to Nossebro to visit her father Bertil. Nossebro is just an hours’ drive from Gothenburg where we live but we haven´t been there regularly the last couple of months.
Maria has been helping Bertil designing the garden but we understood that it has been neglected this spring due to him working on the cottage he owns in Anestad. So I packed my camera gear to do some practice before the trip to Hungary and Maria packed working clothes to help her father with a project in Anestad.
The trip to Nossebro was uneventful and when we were coming nearer we tried to phone Bertil that didn´t answer at home or in his mobile phone. We got hold of him 30 minutes later and understood that he still was with his choir as they actually had begun to sing when we thought it should have ended. We decided that he should come out to the cottage were we where before we headed back to Nossebro.
One thing that always happens when we visit is that we are being feed by food and bakery. The local butcher produces a smoked ham that Maria loves and she can eat tons of it and I really enjoy the homemade ice cream that her father makes. So when he arrived it was coffee time and of course some cookies. Shortly after finishing the coffee we need to get back to Nossebro to have some dinner before Marias brother Måns came by to pick up his wife, Gunilla, which had tagged along to Nossebro.
I can´t say that I was hungry when dinner got served but at least I got ice cream afterwards. So I had to rest some after the dinner before I headed out to look for something fun to photo. I couldn´t say that I felt the garden to be neglected to I am not a garden designer as Maria. I took some picture and tried to catch a Swallow in flight but soon all the mosquito’s got on my nerve and I headed indoors.
We did a field trip later that evening to go out and listen for birds. This was a first for me but Maria has done this before with Bertil here in Nossebro. I just brought my wide angel lens because I felt that the light wouldn´t be the best. It wasn´t the greatest decision because we came upon two pairs of Eurasian Curlew that was searching for food out in a field. This was a first for a long time for Bertil and it was also the first time I’ve seen these birds. This was the highlight of the evening bird wise. I also got some decent landscape photos that can be seen in the gallery together with some photos from the morning next day.
I hope we will go there soon again so I really get a chance to explore the surrounding area. I think many interesting thing can be seen here if you just give it some time.
