The Intimate landscape and a Great Grey Owl
I did my first try with Intimate landscape photography some time ago as I am curious about this particular type of landscape photography.
I’m not sure if I have an eye for landscape photography. I find it hard to make a great photo out of a stunning landscape and that is why I thought I should try the intimate landscape instead.
Off to Västmanland
So, I brought my second camera together with the 24-70mm lens and travelled to Västmanland. I wanted to see what I could do there at the same time trying out the Great Grey Owl site, the main goal of the trip.
The weather was not on my side, even if it was less rain than I am used to. On the bright side it meant I could take photos during the whole day. Midday is otherwise off limit as you will burn out the highlights making it impossible to recover them in Photoshop.
If I look at the Intimate landscape pictures I took during the weekend, then I think this is the nicest one.
I used a variable neutral density filter to create the flowing water. I must admit that I am getting the knack on this. Still there is plenty to learn and I consider joining a course to learn more. I am self-learned and I it could stay that. Still I feel that a course might be the way forward as it will mean a faster learning curve.
New places explores
I think I used the weekend to my advantage as I managed to find several nice locations that I did not know before. In particularly it was interesting to travel thorough the area with the big forest fire from last year. I have already planned on going back either in May or August to have a new look.
Please check out the gallery. I hope you will find some nice photos in it.
